Austin Health Institutional Biosafety CommitteeAll work at the Austin Health precinct involving the conduct, management or containment of genetically modified organisms is undertaken with approval from the Austin Health Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). The Austin Health IBC is constituted by Austin Health with the authority to assess, review and approve all dealings involving genetically modified organisms at Austin Health. It has been established within the guidelines prepared by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR). The IBC is also responsible for annual inspections of the Physical Containment Facilities on the Austin Campus, and for preparing an annual report of its activity for the OGTR.
