Tony Verberne is a Senior Research Fellow of the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NH&MRC). He graduated in science at The University of Melbourne and in 1983 was awarded a PhD in Pharmacology. As an Overseas Research Fellow of the National Heart Foundation of Australia, he worked at the University of Limburg (Maastricht, The Netherlands) and the University of Virginia (Charlottesville, VA, USA) and currently heads a laboratory in the Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Unit in the Department of Medicine at Austin Health. His major research interest is central nervous system control of blood pressure. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of the British Journal of Pharmacology, the American Journal of Pharmacology (Regulatory, Integrative and comparative Physiology) and Brain Research Bulletin. |
